2016-2017 The Laws of the Game Player Equipment The Laws of the Game are authorized on an annual basis by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) and provided by the The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Players and parents should take note of the updated laws of the game including these involving “Player’s Equipment.” Referees have been instructed to abide by the Laws of the Game. Law 4 - The Players’ Equipment o Any tape or other material (like extra socks and ankle supports) on or covering the sock must be the same color as the sock. This means ASA players wear white tape on white socks, ROYAL blue tape on royal blue socks. o Undershorts must be the color of the shorts or their hem; all team members must wear the same color. This means ASA players wear white undershorts with white uniform shorts and ROYAL blue undershorts with royal blue uniform shorts. o Undershirts - the color of the undershirts must be the same color as the main color of the sleeve as this is important for detecting offenses such as handball. This means ASA players wear white long or short sleeve shirts under the white uniform jersey and ROYAL blue long or short sleeve shirts under the royal blue uniform jersey.
