Prospective Club entry requirements

Competition Entry
Introduction
The Kookaburra Southern Cricket Association (KSCA) is the largest amateur cricket association in
Tasmania. The KSCA currently has 29 affiliated clubs with 64 teams clubs across 8 grades expected
to compete this season. The KSCA plays on both days each weekend from October through to March
on synthetic pitches using a four piece leather ball. Our geographic boundaries stretch from Bothwell
to Runnymede, Bagdad to Gretna and Bushy Park through to Sandford.
Objective
Collate preliminary information to enable the KSCA committee of management to assess new
competition entrants particularly their viability on playing and their financial and administrative
capacity to operate in the longer term.
New entrants will not be allowed into the competition if likely to leave in the short-term. It also
must be expected all new entrants will play in higher levels to gauge the team’s ability. The SCA are
looking at strengthening the competition not simply growing with no purpose.
Consideration may be given to new clubs who have access to a home ground of a standard suitable
to the KSCA committee of management. Teams seeking entry to the KSCA are first asked to consider
joining an existing affiliated club and may discuss facility sharing opportunities with such clubs.
