Poll Everywhere: Easy to Use Tutorial
What is Poll Everywhere?
• Poll Everywhere is a simple to use application that allows presenters to
interact with their audience
• Instructions are displayed on screen and users can either respond using text
messaging, Twitter, or the internet
• Signing up for an account through the School of Nursing is completely free
and gives you full functionality.

If you want to answer via texting, text

Different Types of Polls
•
Multiple Choice Polls
- The audience can choose from the different answers provided
•
Open Ended Polls
-The audience can choose their own unique response
•
Q&A Polls
-The audience can submit their own answers and can also anonymously up
or down vote the other answers
•
Ranking Polls
-The audience can choose to higher rank the different answers provided
•
Clickable Polls
-The audience can click on pictures to vote
Creating a Poll
Step 1: Click Create
Step 2: Type in your
question

• Step 3: Choose your type of
question
• Step 4: Click Create Button
Activating Your Poll
• After you have created your poll,
you can click Activate, near the
right side of the poll
• The poll can be shown in full
screen with the last button on the
right
Surveys
• Surveys allow for the audience to complete questions at their own pace
• This can be used for when the presenter is giving questionnaires,
assessments, and / or quizzes
Creating Surveys
• Step 1: Organize your polls into a
group by checking the box next to
their names. The Click Group to
create a new group
• Step 2: Convert poll group by
clicking convert to survey link
Sharing Surveys
• Step 3: To share your Survey, you
can click on the share link or
display the URL for the participants
Testing Your Polls / Surveys
• To look at your poll from your
audience’s point of view, you can
click the Test option on the top
right part of the screen

• Step 1: Download the PollEv
Presenter App
• Step 2: Install the App
Poll Everywhere for PowerPoint
• Step 3: Open or restart PowerPoint
• Step 4: Log on to Poll Everywhere
in PowerPoint on the top of the
page
• Step 5: Create poll and present
Poll Everywhere for Google Slides
• Step 1: Download PollEverywhere
for Google Slides and add to
chrome
• Step 2: Open new Google Slides
Presentation to PollEverywhere
and Log in
Poll Everywhere for Google Slides
• Step 3: Select Polls to insert and
click Insert Polls
• Step 4: Present Google Slides in
presentation
• Note: Slide content will not appear
under you enter Full Screen mode
Ending and Locking Your Poll
• To end or lock your poll, you can
click on the Lock button on the
home page. Another option is to
uncheck the Activate icon to
deactivate
Clearing Polls
• Clearing polls allows for the
presenter to test, clear, and reuse
their polls.
• To clear polls, check off the boxes
of the polls and click Clear Results
near the top of the screen
Custom Pages
• You can customize your Poll
Everywhere page using the
settings option
