Help to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in Berkshire. Give a Child a Chance is hard at work right now supporting children in real need across Berkshire. We need your support – please choose to make a difference and give a child a chance today. Why support ‘Give a Child a Chance’? Give a Child a Chance raises money for disadvantaged children living in Berkshire. We support children, families and community groups working with children up to the age of 18, and up to the age of 25 for those with learning and/or physical disabilities. We tend to think of Berkshire as an affluent county – however, there are a number of hidden issues relating to children and young people. In some areas there are 1 in 3 children living in poverty. And across Berkshire, it is estimated that there are 5,400 children with physical disabilities and 4,325 with learning difficulties, covering a wide range of diagnoses. Since 1985, Give a Child a Chance has raised over £1 million to help disadvantaged children to live more fulfilling lives – providing individual children and the groups who help them with a wide range of support such as tailor-made trikes, pushchairs and wheelchairs, specialised computers, learning aids and therapeutic equipment. Money raised goes to where it’s needed most, making a real difference to young people living on our doorstep. Give a Child a Chance aims to raise at least £100,000 each year to help young individuals, families and groups supporting young people who are disadvantaged by physical or financial circumstances.
