About the Camp
Head Coach Wardell (Dale) Chambers will be
conducting the East Bay Coed Basketball Camp.
Coach Chambers and his experienced staff have a
unique style when it comes to developing campers’
basketball skills and fostering enthusiasm. The
camp offers four action packed days that include
skill stations, 3 on 3 games, 5 on 5 games and
different basketball contests. The unique instructional format allows campers to maximize their
potential while improving their all - around skills.
Campers will be grouped by age and skill level.
Throughout the week, there will be special contests
including one on one competition, hot shot, three
point shooting and foul shooting. Prizes will be
awarded to the winners
Fundamental Development
The East Bay Coed Camp is designed to improve
the game of basketball at all levels in and around
Gibsonton. To achieve this goal, campers will be
given sound fundamental instruction in all phases
of basketball. Offensively, fundamentals emphasized will be shooting, ball handling, passing,
screening and other team concepts. Defensively,
the staff will teach fundamentals associated with
man to man defense. They will include the basic
stance, footwork, help side defense, rebounding
and other concepts important in stopping the opponent.

Camp Tuition
The total cost of the camp is $100 per session. The
total tuition for the camp must be paid in full at the
beginning of each weekly session.

Kid’s Bank
A “Kid’s Bank” will be made available for each camp
session. Parents may want to leave money with the
Camp Bank for their child so that they may purchase
concessions and lunch throughout the week. This
payment must be made in cash and will be separate
from the overall camp Tuition.
Before and After Camp Care
Arrangements can be made for Before and After Care
prior to the beginning of each week. Please contact
Coach Chambers before the week that camp begins.
There is a $10 an hour charge for supervising campers
from 7am - 8am and/or 3:30pm - 4:30pm. If you do not
sign up for Before and After Care and the camper’s ride
is late, there will be a $1 charge for each minute per
camper.

Campers should be prepared daily in a t-shirt, athletic shorts and
basketball shoes. Campers should bring lunch or can purchase lunch
at the camp store

A realistic camper to counselor ratio (1:8) ensures that
each camper receives individualized attention on and off
the court at all times
Awards/Evaluations
Campers will receive a comprehensive evaluation from
their coach for the week, along with a camp certificate of
participation. Parents are invited to attend a special
awards ceremony that honors campers that demonstrated
outstanding leadership, attitude, character, and skill. Each
camper will be provided with a camp t– shirt on the last
day of camp

Camp Staff
Director Dale Chambers
Head Coach Dale Chambers brings over 30 years of
basketball experience and expertise as a player and
coach to the East Bay Basketball Program. As a player he was fortunate enough to be coached by
Baltimore Catholic League Hall of Famer Mark
Amatucci and legendary DII Coach Charles
Chronister of Bloomsburg University. As an assistant
coach for six seasons he was mentored by John Brady
the all time wins leader for public high schools in
Maryland at Annapolis Senior High. Prior to his
arrival to East Bay, Chambers was the head coach at
Plant City High School where he guided the program
for eight seasons. At least 25 of his former players
have gone on to play college basketball at the
Division I, II, and III levels. He presently teaches
United States History and Economics here at East Bay
High School.

Co - Director Laron Hundley
Laron Hundley is the senior member of Dale
Chamber’s coaching staff. He has over 20 plus years
of coaching experience on the High School level and
AAU circuit. As an assistant coach he was
instrumental in helping FAMU High School win 3
state titles in 4 championship appearances from
1994 - 2001.
Guest Lecturers
Invited guest speakers will be former players, coaches and
media personalities. The goal is to bring in interesting people
that would offer campers insight into the game of basketball.
