What are Supplemental Education Services?
The term “Supplmental Education Services” refers to FREE extra help or tutoring in
school subjects, such as reading, language arts and math. These services are free
of charge as a part of the Federal Program “No Child Left Behind”. Children can
receive FREE tutoring in-home, at public locations or at the child’s school.
Who can get these Services?
Students who are signed up for the free and reduced lunch program and attend a
Program Improvement School. (All foster youth and children in relative care qualify
for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program ). See the provided list.
When and how can I sign up my child for tutoring?
LAUSD has three deadline dates, June 30th, August 31th and October 16th . FREE
Tutoring is on a first come basis so Best to sign-up before June 30th. Always
check with the school and/ or the district office as to when and how you can sign
up your child. Attend the provider fairs listed or ask at the school for an application
and mail it in.
