All CMS social studies students will create a project

When:
Wednesday April 6, 2016
Why:
To show off your knowledge of history to CMS staff, parents, and the
community, show PRIDE, have fun, and learn new things!
(6:30-8:00)
What:
 Students will research a civilization of their choice (from the ancient world
history text book) and complete a project about it. Civilization options
include:
1. The Fertile Crescent (Mesopotamia)
2. Ancient Egypt
3. Ancient India
4. Ancient China
5. Ancient Greece
6. Ancient Rome
 Students will create a project of their choice that focuses on an essential
question. This can be any of the following (or something else, just ask!).
1. Model
a. This can be many different things. From giant maps
of the civilization highlighting important places, a
model of the civilization or a specific landmark in the
civilization (building, geography, etc.)
2. Take on the Role
a. Students can dress the part and take on the
personality of the character (props are a must).
3. Tri fold poster board
a. Poster with images and explanations highlighting the
key details found in this packet.
4. You pick!
a. If you have an idea for another style of project, get it
approved by your teacher before starting.

 Key Details: While completing the project, you should try to answer the
following key questions about your choice civilization. You may choose to
focus on ONE, or multiple- it’s your choice!

 All students MUST complete a project of their choice.
 Students may choose to work with a partner or individually.
