Under 7 – Danny Waters, Kieran Perkins, Corey, and Lewis Perkins Well, what a beautiful morning out at Valleys it was. Our boys were
all ready and rearing to go and brought along their game plans. Riley A. had an awesome game, scoring tries and then converting them as
well and tackling hard. Cooper was outstanding in defence, always in every tackle and ran the ball up hard at the opposition. Riley B. ran and
tackled like a possessed human, he was everywhere at once it seemed. Ben was on fire today too. Tackling everyone and scoring some
lightning fast tries.
Under 8 – Ian Bennett The Boys had to work hard against Valleys this week with a smaller field and less room to move. Team 1 had showed
solid defence early to cross the line multiple times to gain the upper hand. Team 2 where a bit slower getting started letting Valleys muscle
them to score first in the corner. Once warmed up, the boys showed how tuff they are, Pattie Muir was hitting the line hard and straight to a
hat trick of tries. Lockie Ciesiolka and Darcy Shelton also played a good solid game.
Under 9 - Anthony Timms. Brothers 1 come up against a very committed Valleys side today. In what was a very even contest both teams
showed some great touches and some really solid, physical defence. Impressive to watch! Henry Ford played strongly with some great
charges. Bud Smith had one of his best games of the year. Tom McDonald was great in defence and had some nice touches out of dummy
half. Brothers 2 took the field in wet conditions. With the ball getting slippery the boys had to learn to play consertive. The completed sets
but opened the opposition defence up several times to score some great tries. Izak Dodd had some great runs. Jack Godwin was terrific in
defence. Hayden Baxter organised well in attack and scored a couple of great tries. Awesome effort from both sides!!! Thanks to Valleys for
2 solid, fair games of football, played in great spirit. Both clubs should be very proud of their boys!!!
Under 10 - 2nd Side – Mark Pomfrett and Dave Campbell What a great game of footy our boys played well from the start and didn’t give
up at all. Our attack was really good even using some of our new plays we have learnt over the past 2 weeks, although there are still a few
little things to work on. Our defence was also spot on getting numbers in the tackles and getting up
off our line. Great work boys keep up the hard work. Special mention goes to Harrison Edwards for and outstanding game showing a creative
flare in attack and some solid defence. Great work Harrison. Keep up the hard work boys
Under 11 – Fiona Charles Dewy conditions made for a challenging game of football against Valleys on Saturday morning. I haven't seen a
better defensive game from the boys all season and I am so proud of how far they have come with their tackling this year. In a tight game that
went down to the wire. It was fitting that we came out with a draw as both teams defended so well. Dylan Andrews continues to improve and
is fastly becoming one of our harder and stronger players. George Tighe made plenty of metres with his strong running. Our wingers Jackson
Brown and Jack Eyers saved some would-be tries with some solid chases down the side line. Logan Charles and Ben Toohey had the crowd
vocal with a driving tackle into the in goal to add to an already impressive defensive and attracting game. Well down boys
Under 11/12 Dec Cup – Chris Pomfrett Last week we travelled to the other side of town to play at Valleys. We started off well with getting
the first points. The boys made a couple of mistakes that put Valleys back into the game. It was really pleasing to see the boys trying a few
things that we worked on at training. Also the support play of each other was exceptional, with only two games to go things are looking up
with finals in the grasp. The two players that stood out were Dominic Mundey for this two try effort, who played his best game. Lachlan Dray
performed well with his defensive tackles and his couple of line breaks. Great team effort boys.
Under 12 – Bluey Ronnfeldt The junior brothers seemed a little casual in the sheds, we had a couple of players out and as a coach didn’t
know what to expect. From the kickoff the boys switched on with Bailey and Flynn stepping up and leading the charge. To the boys credit
they all lifted and found gaps in the Valleys defensive line with our support play adding the points on the board. The only part of our game
that still needs improvement is our defence, in a game that is all attack it is easy to drop off in defence. Good team effort boys, keep up the
hard work. I would like to thank the Dev Cup boys who stood up and help out this week and also the Boost award this week goes to Steven
Mckay for his hard work in both attack and defence.
Under 13 – Jason Brookes A really gutsy effort from the boys to come from behind and score a draw. Nearly taking the points. Our big boys
Jacob Pomfrett, Jared Walker and Riley Fraser led the way up front. Sam Birchley and Mitch McGrath were once again invaluable in attack
and defence. Connor Purcell was courageous and tough in his tireless efforts making great meters and his defence was solid. Two games to
go boys, let's bring it home.
Under 13/14 Dev Cup – Steve Ratcliffe Another impressive display from my young charges. They played well above their weight, and are
improving every week. The 13's are definitely lifting, playing well against their bigger and faster opponents; they give 100% of their ability.
Well done Ando, great game and Riley(Roudy) Harvey back to his best!
Under 14 – David McNab We toughed out a 2 point win today against Valleys under difficult circumstances. Very pleased to see the boys
dig deep all the way to the final whistle, there have been other games during the year when we would have dropped our heads and lost a
close one like this. Our attitude has been great and we’ll need to keep this up as we move into the semis. That goes for training as well as
games. There are still some things we’ll need to keep working on and they’ll only be improved by working on them at training.
Under U15 – Col James Another great team effort last Saturday even though we didn't get the two points. Conditions didn't suit our usual
style of play we played tuff in the forwards with Dan Smith having a blinder and taking out man of the match. We are getting closer and I am
confident we will get there. Thanks to Logan and Jayden for sitting the bench for us your support is greatly appreciated.
TJRL Princess Ball is tonight - Best of luck ‘Daphne Kae’ Well done for representing Brothers.
We are very proud of you
