REMEMBER!
Learning log tasks are designed to be
fun, open-ended and child directed.
Ask your parents to help you if you
like as they may have some good
ideas, but remember it is your
learning log. There are 2 blue core
tasks to be completed and then
choose a further 2 choosing
tasks. If you have extra time then
complete all of the tasks 

the last 100 years. How many can you find?
Write a short biography about one of them.
Help prepare a United Statesthemed evening meal by writing a
shopping list for parents. What did
you have to eat? You do not have
to create the meal, unless you
want to, just plan what you could
have by drawing a plate of the
food items.
Choosing Task-
Choosing TaskFind out about the Battle of Little Big Horn. Why
is it such an important historic event?
Write a speech for a tribal
chief to make to his tribe. It
could be to get them ready
for a battle against another
tribe, or to announce a
forthcoming marriage.
Native American symbols can vary in
meaning from one tribe to another and
across different regions. Symbols were
used for a variety of reasons and are
depicted on numerous objects. What can
you find out about this mysterious
language?

to enhance their
expression and
fluency. Can an
adult sign their
diary when read

Core Task-
Core TaskResearch, using online sources, to
create a timeline of Native
American history. Decide which
events are most important and
write a caption to go with each
date and explain what is
happening.
When Route 66 was first
constructed? How long ago was that?
How many miles is Route 66? How
long does it take to travel around
Route 66?
What is the time difference between
here and 3 American states of your
choice? You can write all of this down
in your learning log.
