It is sad to see not one team win last week. With most teams looking
good for the finals, dig deep and make this the best year yet!

This one was always going to be tough, playing the top side coming
off a big one day GF win, on a ground the size of a postage stamp
and the return of probably the best left arm bowler in the comp.
We just didn’t get it right batting first. It wasn’t the best bowling we
have faced this year and we should have done more. I think we are a
better chasing team.
Defending a small target is tough to do and there was only one
batsman that really did any damage against us, and even he should
have been out a couple times before he really hurt us. None the less
we were out played at least in the first innings and then we were
screwed by some very average umpiring and some blatant cheating
in our second dig. Tommy took all his frustration out on a concrete
wall, unfortunately the concrete wall is a concrete wall and therefore
tommy came off second best. Should have attacked the wheelie bins
as is customary at Carlisle.
Some good things that came out of the game were Jaron’s opening
batting getting us off to good starts in both innings, the skip picked
up victim number 30 for the year and Caddy had a break through
bowling effort picking up his first “five for” for the club. Well done
mate, and against the top team which makes it even better, now do
it again this weekend.
Let’s finish off the regular season on a high. We have all the talent
that is needed to beat any team in our grade it just needs all or hell
even half to turn up on the same day and we are golden.
Woof! Woof!

5th Grade – Peter Andersson
Carlise def. by Karrinyup
103
150 & 7/96
Another game against Karrinyup after the one-day final last week
and the same result. Won the toss and sent them in to bat at
Ferndale Upper. One of the slowest outfields I have ever played on
and it made scoring very, very slow. A good effort to bowl them out
for 150 but it could have been better if we had held all our catches.
Vinny 2/17
Shane Z. 2/11
Hendo 3/17
Ando 2/14
A good start to the chase and we were 0/27 at stumps on Day 1.
Day 2 started alright but no batsman could go on and make a
decent score and after being 2/71 at one stage we were spun out for
103 with only 10 batsmen.
Ando 21
Wheels 20
Shane Z. 14
Manu 15
Liam
16
Then time for a second innings and to try and get some extra bonus
points. Karrinyup were 7/96 at the end with Shane Z taking 2
wickets, Liam his first wicket for Carlisle plus two run-outs helped
us and we were able to just hold on to 4th place.
Simply a must win game this week against Ascot to make finals.
7th Grade – Darryl Jago
Carlisle defeated by Mt Lawley
10/93 & 4/115
10/263
Well not much to say about this match except that we were taught a
lesson.
Chasing 264 to win, which we should have got eazily, we were all
out for just 93 in 1st innings. Sent in again we did a bit better to
end the day 4/115 to limit the damage to a 1st innings loss.
That now puts us 2nd on the ladder for the first time this season.
Next game and last before finals is against Ascot at Higgins.
Cheers
