Please complete a separate Appendix for each site you wish to be covered by the licence,
and the details of the person (specified site representative) who is proposed to become a
licensee who will be responsible for use of the licence at that site.
If you are an existing individual licence holder and wish to join an area based licence you
do not need to complete all sections of the form. You only complete sections 1, 5, 6 and 8,
but may complete others if you feel it is useful.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, Natural England is obliged to take conservation factors into account
when considering your application. Designated sites include: National Nature Reserves (NNR), Sites of Special
Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Protection Areas (SPA), Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) and Ramsar sites.

Please note that the Licensing Team is required to consult with other relevant Natural England teams regarding
applications involving shooting on or adjacent to designated sites. This many affect how long it takes to process

E.g. Six birds regularly present at the site between October and March. Highest numbers are seen in January and
February, with last year’s maximum of 27 recorded in January 2013. The birds tend to arrive to fish at dawn, with 2-3

6. Authority to shoot
Authorised persons
Up to six people (including the specified site representative) may normally be authorised to shoot at a site
covered by an area licence to kill/take cormorants. If you require more persons that this then please supply
details and state clearly that this is required.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the right to shoot on the site.
Please list below the names and contact telephone numbers of all persons other than the specified site
representative who are authorised to shoot at this site (maximum 6 if the specified site representative
themselves does not shoot and 5 if that person does intend to shoot). No-one under the age of 18 may be
authorised by the licensee without specific written permission from Natural England. The site licensee and
anyone acting under the licence are responsible for their actions and for complying with the licence conditions.
