Position Summary: Junior counselors may be asked to perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to cleaning the Bunker, cleaning the cafeteria, cleaning the Bunkhouse, keeping restrooms orderly throughout the day, assisting with camper activities, and assisting General Counselors in the Bunkrooms. Junior counselors must attend one week of camp as a paying camper during the summer in which they are hired. Junior Counselors are hired for 1 or 2 weeks and are typically between the ages of 16-17 years old. Junior Counselors are part time or full time; days and hours may vary but will include weekends and holidays. Junior Counselors are considered campers as well as staff members and therefore are subject to all rules that apply to campers. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: General cleaning and maintenance of facilities including the Bunker, Cafeteria, and Bunkhouse Participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm Assist with content collection (photography and video) Job assignments take precedence over activity times or sessions Maintain a positive attitude and arrive to shifts on time Uphold highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior at all times Behave in a manner appropriate to our youngest campers (7 years old). Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: Honest and has the highest integrity. You will be representing your department at the monthly Safety Committee Meetings. Responsible to meet all Federal, State and County safety and health regulations including OSHA.
