feel of warm soft dust between your toes, the tranquillity of the Bushveld, the trees, the birds, and the graceful
impala? Would you recognise the smell of fresh, warm milk or even remember where to milk the cow?
Don't you miss the sounds of the bleating sheep or the thrill of riding your sweaty steed, both of you equally
exhilarated from your shared encounters with zebra, kudu and giraffe? When last did you feel the warm glow
of a flickering campfire on your face as you sit and gaze aimlessly into those mesmerizing, dancing flames?
Don't you miss the silence, the peace, the sensation of soaring freedom you get from looking out over the
endless plains from your vantage point atop a secluded "koppie"? Do you remember how the Bushveld skies
come ablaze each night with their star-studded jewels?
Most people remain totally unaware that there is still a haven right at their fingertips where such fond
memories can be rekindled, and this Bushveld paradise is me. SONDELA is the name I was given, and it
means "Come Closer".
Hook up the trailer, load up the kids, don't forget the wife and hit the big road North past Pretoria. A short
1½ hours after leaving the bustle of Johannesburg, there will be no mistaking the minute that you arrive on my
doorstep. On my behalf, the Hoep Hoep will welcome you with his friendly call and the giraffe will bow their
graceful necks in your honour.

The butler-serviced Sondela Country House is set against the gentle backdrop of grassy Bushveld savannahs and is
embraced by majestic trees and rolling green lawns. This stately, 5-Star boutique hotel is the proverbial diamond in the
crown for Sondela Nature Reserve and its already versatile range of top class accommodation, leisure and conference
facilities.
Seven spacious bedrooms have been decorated with their own individual character that not only include luxuries such as
carefully selected furnishings and fine linen, but also special features such as private outdoor showers or baths, whilst
the honeymoon suite offers a secluded private garden and spa bath. Each room opens onto either a small secluded
garden, or onto lovely manicured lawns, with views of the homestead fields. A sparkling heated pool is reserved for the
exclusive use of guests to the Sondela Country House.

CARAVAN PARK
Our Caravan Park offers 89 demarcated standard stands, as well as 52 stands with private ablution facilities. All our
stands have power and water points, as well as their own braai facilities. The Caravan Park is set around a spectacular
thatched ablution block, which has been carefully designed to meet a camper's every need, including built-in baby
baths, a family bathroom and a separate bathroom to accommodate wheelchair users. The stunning Premier Lapa
houses the bar and entertainment area and offers DSTV, pool table, table tennis and darts.
Other facilities at the Caravan Park include a swimming pool with built-in spa, kiddies pool, a traditional boma braai area
and the one of a kind porta-potti flush. Campers are encouraged to take part in the resort’s recreation programme and
can also keep busy with activities such as game drives, guided walks, horse riding, boeresport, pool games, volleyball,
visits to the Wildlife Centre and lots more.

In order to promote the privacy of resident guests, NO DAY VISITORS will be allowed on the Resort.
RESERVATION RULES
PAYMENT:
• The full cost of your reservation must be paid within 48 hours of making the booking. The deposit slip must be faxed to
us in order to confirm your reservation.
• Failure to do this will result in the automatic cancellation of your provisional reservation.
• Should the reservation be made 48 hours or less prior to your arrival date, the full cost of your accommodation must
still be paid prior to arrival and the deposit slip faxed to us.
• Should the deposit not be received in time, the reservation will be automatically cancelled.
CANCELLATIONS (WRITTEN REQUEST NEEDED):
A reservation which is cancelled or not taken up, is regarded as a cancellation and is subject to the following rules:
• For a cancellation made 31 days or more prior to the arrival date, 25% of the full reservation amount will be forfeited;
• For a cancellation made 30 - 21 days prior to the arrival date, 50% of the full reservation amount will be forfeited;
• For a cancellation made 20 -11 days prior to the arrival date, 75% of the full reservation amount will be forfeited;
• For a cancellation made 10 days or less prior to the arrival date, or on the arrival date, 100% of the full
reservation amount will be forfeited.
AMENDMENTS:
Amendments to a reservation are made free of charge, with the following exceptions:
Ÿ If arrival is postponed 10 days or less before the booked arrival date, or on the arrival date, 50% of the full reservation
amount will be forfeited.
Ÿ If the arrival date is postponed 30 days or less prior to the arrival date, or on the arrival date, and then cancelled at a
later stage, the cancellation fees applicable at the time of the postponement will apply, should this amount be greater
than the new cancellation fees.
Ÿ Should visitors not arrive on the reserved date, the accommodation will be held until the following day, but the full
reservation amount will be forfeited.
Ÿ No credit will be given for any decrease in the number of people in your party.
Should the number in your party increase, any additional charges related thereto must be paid in full prior to arrival.
Ÿ For Caravan Park bookings, if the number of stands is decreased on the arrival date, the camping fees for the
cancelled stands will be forfeited.
