Makey Makey
By Connor Donovan
What is a Makey-Makey?
• Makey Makey is a device that allows you to turn every day
objects into touchpads and combine them with the internet.
• It’s a simple invention kit for people of any level of
experience.
• Comes out of the box ready to use out of the box and
includes a Makey Makey, alligator clips, and a usb cable.
• There is no programming, software downloads or anything
required.
How Does it Work?
• Alligator clip 2 objects to the makey
makey for example you and an orange
and then plug in the usb into the
computer. When you touch the apple,
you make a connection, and MaKey
MaKey sends the computer a keyboard
message. The computer just thinks
MaKey MaKey is a regular keyboard (or
mouse). Therefore it works with all
programs and webpages, because all
programs and webpages take keyboard
and mouse input.
What Can I Make?
• The world is at your finger tips when using makey makey. You can
create virtually anything with makey makey as long as there is an
existing computer program to correspond with your invention.
• Here are some ideas:
• Piano Stairs
Sword fighting game
My Experience With Makey Makey
• Over the past few days my classmates and I have
been given the opportunity to make our very own
makey makey creation.
• Myself along with Will, Keaton, Andrew, and Jared
created our very own sword fighting game in which
you must touch your opponents tin foil armor with
your tin foil coated sword to gain points. First
person to touch their opponents armor 10 times is
victor. We programmed our own visual basic
program to act as a score board for the game.
