Course Objective
Boom-type elevating work
platforms (where the length of the
boom is 11 metres or more) means
a telescoping device, hinged
device, or articulated device, or any
combination of these, used to

support a platform on which
personnel, equipment and
materials may be elevated.
A High Risk Work Licence is
required for Boom Lifts over
11metres.
To provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate Vertical Lifts in a safe
and competent manner in accordance with workplace requirements.
Course Outcome
Upon course completion learners will be issued with a Yellow Card Licence from the Elevated
Work Platform Association of Australia. A statement of attainment can be issued upon request.

Plan and prepare for operations

Conduct work activities from elevating work platform

Carry out operator maintenance

Clean up
Course Prerequisites

Ability to use and understand basic English.

Must be able to work at heights.

Learners must be at least 18 yrs of age to be issued with a full licence.

Upon successful completion of the program Restricted Licenses (requiring supervision
by a ticketed operator) may be issued to learners from 16 years.

when they will be issued with a full licence.
