Edwards FCU proudly sponsors the Lancaster Jethawks and
we were honored to host the Jethawks’ Military Appreciation
Day T-shirt Giveaway on Saturday, May 23rd. The first 1,000
attendees to the game received a free “United We Stand”
t-shirt with the Edwards FCU logo on the back! Also, our very own
CEO, Stan Turner, and Board Chairman, Kim Dunham, were awarded the honor
of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of the game!
Everyone had a great evening filled with baseball, food
& fun! Thanks to everyone who joined us at the game!

Beth Boone, an employee
here at Edwards FCU, was
awarded the prestigious
Volunteer Excellence Award
at the Edwards Air Force Base’s
Annual Volunteer Recognition
Ceremony held on April 28th
this year. Beth has been an
employee of Edwards FCU for
30 years and a valuable member of the Edwards team.
Volunteers support as many as 33 different organizations
on Edwards AFB. Each year one individual is chosen to
receive the Volunteer Excellence Award for long time
volunteer contributions, which can only be awarded once
in a lifetime. The contributions made by the awardees
demonstrate a positive impact on the military base and
surrounding community.
This year’s winner, Beth Boone, has given 4,642 hours of
service to the Edwards community. She has contributed to
the Air Force Aid Society’s Bundles for Babies program by
knitting over 245 receiving blankets for new and expectant
parents over the last 13 years. Beth has mentored new
mothers, served as treasurer at her church, organized
numerous clothing drives in support of the homeless and
disadvantaged families. She has also volunteered to help
with the Desert High Scorpion Robotics team as well as
taken on numerous jobs at school such as running the
snack bar at sporting events. She continually supports
the success of the Edwards community and the
Edwards FCU team here.
Her Edwards FCU family is very proud of Beth and her
accomplishments. Way to go, Beth!

Have you ever gone to check out at a store, pull out your
card to pay and then find out the transaction won’t go
through? If you have, you know how frustrating and
embarrassing this situation can be. Luckily Edwards FCU
has the technology to help you avoid these mishaps in
the future. The best part is it’s a totally free service!
How to do it:
Edwards FCU makes it very easy to set up account alerts
through the website. Start by logging in to your secure
online account through our website; www.edwardsfcu.
org. Under “My Accounts” listing, there is a phone icon
for “Manage mobile alerts.” Click the link and the text
and email options will display. Now it’s just a matter of
clicking a few boxes and “Save Changes.” Easy!
You have flexibility in how you receive alerts and what
type of messages you receive. For example, you can
choose if you want an update for your credit card or
deposit accounts, or both. Notifications can be received
by phone text message or email address. There are
a number of triggering events you can elect to be
message generators. Common options are; having a
message sent when your checking account drops
below a certain dollar amount, weekly balance updates,
large withdrawal notices or payment reminders.

You even have the option of sending us text messages
to complete a transfer of funds or receive important
balance information. Just text a short command to
454545 and you will quickly receive the information
you want.
Here are some of the requests you can make with
Text Message Banking:
• BAL — Current and available balances for
a primary account you designate
• LAST — The last five transactions in your
primary account
• BAL ALL — Current balances for all the accounts
you have with us
• TRANS — Transfer funds to your primary account
• STOP — Cancel the Text Message Banking service

Thank you to all our members who joined us for our 5th Annual Membership Appreciation Day. We enjoyed seeing
all of you. Our document shredding service was another success with 3,480 pounds of paper shredded, which is
the equivalent of saving 29.58 trees. The day was filled with food, fun and prizes. We look forward to seeing all of
you next year!

THE PRESIDENT
President/CEO
As most of you already know, Edwards Federal Credit Union can be joined
by anyone who lives or works in the Antelope Valley community. This is your
community, and we all value being a part of the AV, which is a very special
place with very special people.
As a responsible member of our community, we know that we cannot just
“take” from our community, but we also need to “give back” to others. That
is why we promote and encourage employees to support community charity
organizations of their choice. As a company, EFCU does participate in several
charitable events throughout the year.
As for me, I am involved in the AV Board of Trade, the Civ-Mil support group,
the Lancaster West Rotary Club, the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and
Central Christian Church. What about you?
What are you doing to serve the community in which you live? There are many
fine organizations that could use some help such as Special Olympics, Boys
and Girls Club, Grace Resource Center, and many more. I would encourage
you to become active as a volunteer, and spend time and money (if you can)
helping others. The rewards far outweigh the costs.
