Kwang Sung Launches World’s First Turn Key Solution for
DAB/DAB+/DMB-A Digital Pocket Radio

Creates New Revenue to the Group
(Hong Kong, 16 May 2010) Kwang Sung Electronics H.K. Co. Limited (“Kwang Sung” or the “Group”;
stock code: 2310), a reputable electronic components manufacturer and supplier for the audio, video
and telecommunications industries, has launched a turn key solution in a printed circuit board, the
world’s first solution for DAB/DAB+/DMB-A in a digital pocket radio, in May.
Australia, Singapore, and Malta are already adopting DAB+ decoding standards for radio
broadcasting. European countries are also planning to move their radio broadcasting format from
analog to digital, with DAB+ decoding mandatory in the new standard DAB radio profile to enable
Pan-European inter-operability. To grasp the emerging demand driven by the trend towards digital
broadcasting, the Group has developed this turn key solution for its customers. It has already been
field-tested in UK, Sweden and France as well as Australia with delivery to renowned retailers in UK
and Australia already underway. The Group expects to add new revenues of approximately US$1
million from the turn key solution this year with continuous growth potential in the coming years.
This solution was developed based on the Korean-based Nexillion solution with 128X64 Dot-matrix
displays which supports dynamic label segment (“DLS”) functions. It has the advantage of low power
consumption and can play up to 13 hours of DAB reception with two 3A batteries.
