The Arden Manor coaching staff created the following age group goals for upcoming
season. These goals were created to help guide and encourage the swimmers
throughout the season with focus on swimming technique along with what it means
to be part of a team.
6-under – First half of the season
- Be ready to enter to pool at the start of practice
- Swim 25 yards without support of coaching staff
- Become comfortable with coaching staff
- Learn sportsmanship
- Make a new friend
- Have FUN
By end of season
- Dive from blocks
- Swim 25 yards without stopping
- Proper side breathing technique
- Show sportsmanship
- Compete at Champs
7/8’s First half of season
- Learn team rules
- Listen to coach when talking
- Swim 25 yards without stopping
- Establish fundamentals of all strokes
- Become comfortable with coaching staff
- Learn sportsmanship
7/8’s end of season
- Swim 50 yards without stopping
- Dive off blocks
- Perform flip turns
- Show sportsmanship
- Show progression on all strokes
- Compete at Champs!
9/10 & 11/12s first half of season
- Swim 50 yards without stopping

- Learn how to use pace clock at practice
- Perform proper starts, turns, and finishes
- Focus on legal stroke technique
- Show team spirit and bonding
9/10 & 11/12s end of season
- Complete IM without stopping
- Improved conditioning
- Set individual goals for times at Champs

13 and up first half
- Set personal goals for season and write them down after time trials
