• What is Sustainable Solutions?
SSC creates a forum for interdisciplinary teams of
students to create a plan for a sustainable campus
initiative to be implemented at the University of
Pittsburgh. The winning team receives project funding
(up to $10,000), implementation guidance from the
Student Office of Sustainability and the Office of
PittServes. Each team member will also receive an
individual gift.
• SSC Rules
• Team Competition- no more than 5 members and no less
than 2
• Interdisciplinary is best!
• Every Member PARTICIPATES!
• Individual registrants can join existing teams or form their
own teams
• One team member must attend each of the workshop
sessions
• All team members must attend the presentation run-thru
• All team members must be present for final presentation on
February 7

• Define a problem on the Pitt campus/community
• Research and Benchmark the problem
• Create your project title, short project description and
outline
• Submit this project description and outline to Erika and
Anna by 9pm on Wednesday, January 18
We will review, provide feedback or suggestions
• Create your Project Plan complete with Budget and
Implementation Strategy

• Formulate your Project Pitch and Presentation
