Jim McGuffey, M.A., CPP, PSP, PCI, an ASIS member since
1981 holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and M.A. In
Management. In addition to serving in the military and law
enforcement, he served 26 years in the cash-in-transit industry
holding senior field positions with responsibility during his tenure for several
thousand armed guards, 1,000 armored vehicles and 50 high risk facilities.
Jim is vetted by the Department of State to teach Critical Infrastructure
Security and Resilience, Preventing Attacks on Trains and Railways
Systems, Protecting Soft Targets and Surveillance Detection and has
taught these courses in Afghanistan, Egypt, Columbia, Jordan, Mexico,
India, Tajikistan, Uganda, Pakistan, Philippines, Tunisia, Jamaica, Chad,
Niger, Mauritania, India, and for Yemen, Saudi Arabia Kingdom law
enforcement.
Jim has also been retained as an expert witness in security matters in the
U.S., Canada, and South America. During 2016 Jim was a speaker at ASIS
International 62nd Annual Seminar & Exhibits in Florida; International Arts
& Antiquities Security Forum, in England and the S.C. InfraGard Winter
Conference.
Jim is one of 130 security professionals worldwide to hold all three ASIS
International board certifications in security accredited by the Department
of Homeland Security. A Board Certified Designation is acknowledged as
the security profession’s highest recognition of practitioners. The CPP®,
PSP® and PCI® certifications are awarded based upon experience,
education and examination that provides objective measure of an
individual’s broad-based knowledge and competency in security
management, physical security and the investigation process. Ongoing
professional development is required to maintain each credential.
