Consideration of Applicant Who Does Not Meet the Normal Entrance Requirements RS2c Applicant Details Name of applicant: Banner ID: Faculty: Title of Research Programme: Normal Entrance Requirements 1 Graduates holding a first or upper second class honours degree in a relevant subject of study from a university of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland or from another university approved by the Senate or from the Council for National Academic Awards or applicants deemed by the Senate to hold equivalent qualifications are eligible for admission. 2 Applicants who do not meet the foregoing requirements may be admitted after successful completion of a preliminary examination in accordance with rules approved by the Senate. 3 Decisions relating to admission will be made by either the Board of the Faculty (for normal admissions) or by the Research Degrees Committee on the recommendation of the Board of the Faculty (for exceptional admissions) on behalf of the Senate. The programme of work to be undertaken shall be approved and supervisors appointed in accordance with the guidelines in advance of registration. Referral of the Application Where an application is to be referred back to the applicant for amendment this should be dealt with by the Faculty. This form is to be completed by the chair of the interview panel and returned to Research Student Administration along with the RS2 form. RS2c 1 Applicant’s Experience (to be completed if the qualifications are insufficient to admit the applicant) The Faculty should assess this applicant in accordance with the University procedures for APEL. The applicant should submit a portfolio/evidence to the Faculty who will undertake a mapping exercise in accordance with the University procedures for APEL. This mapping exercise should be attached to this form for consideration by RDC. Failure to attach this will result in the applicant being rejected.
