The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is organizing its 5th EIITF, 2016 conference on the theme
“International Trade at Transaction Level and Effects of Global Recession” during December 16-17, 2016 in
Kolkata Campus, 1583 Madurdah, Kolkata 700 107, India. Any unpublished empirical paper on international
economics and finance (Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classification: E, F, G and R) is solicited. All
submissions will be refereed for final selection. A few selected papers will be considered for publication in
Foreign Trade Review, the IIFT Journal published by SAGE (http://ftr.sagepub.com), after appropriate doubleblind peer review. There is a separate track for PhD students. There is no registration fee for PhD students.
Other paper presenters and participants need to deposit a Conference Registration fee of Rs. 5000/- or 80
USD by Demand Draft in favor of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE, payable at Kolkata or by
electronic transfer.

ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
Nature Conservation Foundation invites applications from
Indian nationals for their doctoral programme to conduct
research on the following topics:
• Understanding and measuring the impact of communitybased conservation efforts in snow leopard landscapes
• Drivers of fisheries overharvest in Konkan trawl fisheries
• Demography and theoretical analyses of primate populations
and societies
Eligibility criteria:
• Master’s degree in science, with at least 55% in the
aggregate, and
• Prior experience in the preferred research topic (at least
one publication in a peer-reviewed journal desirable)
Applicants should state their preferred research topic (only
one) and submit a statement of purpose (about 300 words)
and their recent CV only by email to admissions@ncf-india.
org on or before July 31, 2016.
Applications will be screened and selected candidates will be
called for an interview before the final selection is made.
The 53rd Annual Conference of the Indian Econometric Society
is scheduled to be held at National Institute of Science
Education and Research (NISER), Khordha, Odisha, from
22 nd to 24th December, 2016. The conference is jointly
organized by NISER and NCDS, Bhubaneswar. Professor

V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, Noida invites applications from young
teachers and researchers from universities/colleges/research institutions
and professionals in government organisations who intend to pursue
their interests in the area of gender research on labour issues for
participating in the Course on Research Methods on Gender Issues in
Labour, during September 19-30, 2016. The objectives of the course
are: Theoretical Perspectives on gender and labour research across
various disciplines; to understand the various feminist methodologies
and approaches in gender research; identifying emerging issues in
gender and labour research in social sciences; introducing them to
various qualitative and quantitative techniques in gender issues in labour
research; to make them familiar with recent statistical packages used
in social science research. Each of the selected participants would be
required to make a brief presentation of a proposal/research paper or
a case study, related to their current theme of research interest, during
the training period. No programme fee will be charged and VVGNLI
will provide to and fro second class sleeper train fare and free boarding
and lodging on twin sharing basis at the institute’s campus.
