Essential Duties and Responsibilities:












Direct workforce in the production of quality parts in accordance with customer
requirements.
Direct work assignments of associates and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Communicates clearly and frequently with associates, peers, superiors and others as
needed.
Assure the production of required quantity of parts per customer requirements.
Requires good working knowledge of all processes.
Responsibilities include data entry of scrap tickets, shipping labels, time and attendance
tracking.
Management of time and attendance system for direct reports and ensures proper payment
to all associates.
Promote safety, quality, teamwork and good housekeeping at all times.
Train and develop hourly associates in their job responsibilities.
Comply with HPDS, ISO, TS, HPS, continuous improvement, problem solving guidelines
and regulations.
Regularly practice HPS through lean manufacturing events.
Perform simple maintenance checks on equipment and reports equipment defects,
malfunctions and generate work orders as needed.
Performs or ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management
functions for the department: planning, organizing, directing the performance of ongoing
activities and/or special projects, staffing (employee selection, training/coaching and
performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting
Qualifications/Requirements:











Well-developed active listening and negotiation skills.
Proficient verbal and written skills; communicates clearly, with credibility and confidence
Communicates effectively (verbally and in writing) with individuals at all levels, inside and
outside the company.
Analytical and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a
broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
Thorough knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, practices, and challenges.
Competent in multi-tasking (i.e. the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, issues or
projects that may include high-visibility initiatives and require innovation, teamwork and
planning).
Proficiency in the following software applications: Microsoft Office and Excel sufficient to
apply and /or support the application with minimal instruction or guidance; this level of
proficiency is typically attainable through three-plus year(s) of substantive experience with
the applications.
Motivates through ‘leading by example,’ coaching/mentoring and providing ongoing
constructive feedback to subordinate staff; competent in systematically eliciting the best
efforts and results from subordinate staff.
Ability to work in a team and/or matrixed structure, supporting multiple clients.
Flexibility and the ability to work with shifting priorities; embrace new/evolving
responsibilities.
Balances multiple demands from superiors, subordinates, and/or peers in a positive and
even-handed fashion; displays a calm demeanor under pressure.
