2019 Canada Winter Games Male and Female Coaching Staff Applications
Hockey Nova Scotia is now accepting applications for the positions of Head Coach (1 position) and Assistant Coach (2
positions) for both the male and female Canada Winter Games hockey teams who will compete at the 2019 Canada
Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta.
The Canada Games is the nation’s largest multi-sport competition for young athletes. Held every two years, alternating
between summer and winter, the Canada Games is a key event in the development of Canada’s young athletes and
represents the pinnacle of interprovincial/ territorial sport competition. In 2019, the vent will bring more than 3600
participants from across the nation to compete in 19 sports, which includes everything from synchronized swimming to
alpine skiing and biathlon.
All applicants for both head and assistant coach positions must have completed their High Performance I Coaching
Certification (including their exam and field evaluation). Please note this is a requirement in the Canada Games Technical
Package and is non-negotiable for any coaches.
Below, applicants will find a timeline of dates and events that all coaches and staff are expected to be in attendance for.
There will also be numerous conference calls with both Hockey Nova Scotia and Hockey Canada, especially in the last
few months prior to the Canada Games. Failure to be available may result in being removed from position.
