Welcome to Health and Physical Education
"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and
give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
-Michael Jordan-
*Expectations of the Student*
Physical Education:
Students are expected to dress out each day promptly within the
time given. Students will be allowed exactly 5 minutes to get changed into their
PE clothes. I will not start the clock for the 5 minutes to begin until a majority of
the class has entered the gym.
Physical Education Attire:




Gym Shorts
Athletic T-Shirt or Long sleeves
Girls may wear leggings that are not too tight
Girls may not wear spaghetti straps or tank tops
 Athletic shoes or Sperrys are allowed
 No sandals or flip flops will be allowed
Physical Education Grading:
Students will be graded upon their participation throughout the
ENTIRE class. Students will receive a score of 100 if that student is promptly
dressed in the required time (5 minutes) with the correct attire and participate
throughout class. Points will be deducted if the teacher feels the student is not
fully participating in either the warm-up or the activity.
Student will receive a 50 IF:
The student does not dress out, but does an alternate assignment
during class for a grade of a 50.
The student does get dressed out, but not in the allotted time, unless
a note is presented at the beginning of class or whenever the student comes into
class.
The student will receive a ZERO if he/she does not dress out AND
complete an alternative assignment.
Health:
We will have Health once every 3 weeks, so 2 weeks PE, 1 week
Health. Students are required to bring their OWN pencil/pen, along with blank
sheets of paper or a notebook. I will NOT be providing students with these items,
for they should come prepared to class. I will let the students know the prior
week that we will have health.
Health Grading:
Student will be given different types of classwork (i.e. Guided Notes,
Decision Making Guides, Crosswords, Projects, etc.) throughout the Health week.
Students are required to complete these during class, for these items will be VERY
valuable come the end of the week. Each Friday, there will be a test, and the
information from these items completed during the week will be on the test.
*EXCEPTIONS*
Students that present a Doctor's note stating why the student is not
allowed to participate in Physical Education OR a note is given to the nurse.
I am excited and looking forward to having your child
in my class this school year.
