Programme Overview
Managers and staff in all organisations are required to deliver on performance and at the
same time manage constant change and pressures.
This workshop is geared to those who wish to become more aware of their responses and
that of others and to have greater choice in terms of strategies that will enable them and
those they manage to perform more effectively at work and to live more positively.
Programme Objectives
This practical and interactive course offers managers and staff the opportunity to develop
effective strategies though practical skill development in a safe learning environment.
Target Audience
This course is beneficial for anyone who wishes to understand their own and other people’s
reactions and responses to pressure and how to they can develop greater resilience going
forward.
Trainer Bio
Ailbhe Harrington draws on over 20 years’ experience in the field of learning and
development, which has included working within the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Her focus is on facilitating individuals to become self-aware, more insightful, and to move to
a place of choice and responsibility. In turn, they are better equipped to contribute fully to
the multiple demands of their busy careers and lives. As an experienced trainer, facilitator
and coach, Ailbhe’s unique skills are both her approachability and her desire for her
interventions to make a tangible difference; providing real transferable skills that work

She incorporates a coaching buddy system as a mechanism to help mobilise individuals to
translate the agreed actions from the training room to implementation. Again the attention
is on transfer and application, not just theory.

(ITS), Reiki Master and Massage Therapist
Programme Content










Develop awareness of mindfulness and being present.
Understand what causes stress and develop an awareness of stress in self and
others.
Have identified your individual response to stress; physical, emotional, behavioural
& cognitive.
Understand the physical response and the importance of managing this in terms of
personal health and interpersonal communication.
Be able to use breathing techniques to manage the physical response and capacity to
practice restraint.
Be equipped to manage behavioural responses and have strategies to become a
hardy & resilient individual.
Develop awareness of emotional and thinking responses to stress.
Have practiced different practical relaxation approaches to help manage stress.
Have created an action plan and committed to work with a coaching buddy for three
weeks following the course to enable transfer of learning to work and personal life.
Relaxed and learned practical transferrable skills in a supportive environment.
