Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to another super year at Hood-Case! We have a new program this year for online
registration and parent monitoring of student information, called Skyward, which will be sent to
you very soon. Also, we need residency verification again this year, so please take care of this as
soon as possible. We are here to help you, so if you need to take care of this at the school, please
come on by. We want you to always feel welcome at school, and you may visit on any days
except STAAR testing days, when the campus is closed to visitors.
The school theme this year is “Bee a Superhero.” Please plan to visit us at our annual Open House/
Fall Family Fun Night in October. And, since our “Bring Your Parent to School Day” was such a
success this past year, we will host two of these events this year, one in the fall and one in the
spring. This is an excellent opportunity to build bonding relationships between parents, students,
and staff, and it’s a great way for you to know what your child is learning and participating in at
school.
We are all looking forward to meeting, and getting to know each parent, and you are both
welcomed and encouraged to volunteer at our school anytime. We need your help with fundraising,
school picture days, extracurricular events, aiding in media production, moral support, classroom
parties, and school spirit. We look forward to having you become an active member of our new
ATP (Action Team for Partnership) program, which replaces the PTO, for building relationships
between teachers, administrators, and parents, connecting families with community and school.
In an effort to keep you informed, all school information of interest can be found online at
www.alvinisd.net and our school website, which has a link under the Schools tab, and you can
communicate with your child’s teachers via email. We are also asking you to subscribe to our
campus eNews, a weekly electronic publication sent to your email. It will keep you updated weekly
with activities and upcoming events at school, so please make sure you are subscribed.
Look for the link under the Parents tab on the website, or the left-hand column of the Home page.
Please read and respond to ALL material in this packet as soon as possible, as it is VERY important!
We anticipate another outstanding year at Hood-Case because of our students, parents, and staff!
