SRAM Athletes Go Big at Colorado Freeride Festival
Slopestyle phenom Brandon Semenuk continued his winning streak this
past Saturday at the Colorado Freeride Festival slopestyle finals, part of
the Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour. With a combination of giant
air and a creative refined style, Semenuk secured the win on his first run,
an increasing habitual routine for the 21 year old slopestyle all-star. Second
and third place went to Martin Söderström and Brett Rheeder who have
consistently earned their place on the podium and are no doubt within reach
of Semenuk. Söderström currently leads the FMB World Tour overall. All
three riders will continue the FMB World Tour next weekend at the Bearclaw
Invitational in Mount Washington, Canada.
The Colorado Freeride Festival also hosted the Specialized Enduro race
consisting of five stages over three days. Racers experienced a unique
format beginning with a chainless challenge as stage 1. SRAM, RockShox,
Avid and TRUVATIV athlete Curtis Keene was the man to beat coming off
of the first stage with a six second lead. Keene quickly acclimated to the
elevation, skillfully handling the demanding courses over the following two
days retaining his lead through the final stage. Second and third place went to
SRAM athletes Ross Schnell and Nate Hills.
