“Its’ hot, hot, hot”!!! Summer is
finally here, yeah!
Stretching serves three important
functions:
Let the summer games begin!
Activities such as hiking, running
or cycling require you to drink
plenty of water. The need for
water is not appreciated by most
people, yet most of the major
systems of the body need water to
function properly.
The body is ready for activity
You are mentally ready to
participate
Systemically the body starts to
move waste materials (such as
lactic acid) that sometimes are
stored in the muscles and allows
the blood flow to carry them
away.
It cannot be said enough,
STRETCH and DRINK WATER!
These two basic rules are easy
enough albeit, simply neglected.
Lack of water can leave muscles
dehydrated and potentially cause
injury.
Dr. Sherrington is active in a
number of sports and enjoys the
outdoors, but he also knows only
too well the value of stretching,
hydrating
and
regular
Chiropractic treatment as a form
of “preventative medicine”.
Hikers or walkers of any level
may be surprised to know that this
natural form of exercise can also
cause lower back or hip issues.
Before beginning any vigorous
activity, it is important to get as
much blood circulating as
possible. If you stretch or warm
up appropriately your muscles,
ligaments, and tendons will have
a good blood supply and will be
flexible; then the stresses they
encounter during activities/sports
will strengthen them rather than
injure them.
Dr. Sherrington not only believes
but also receives adjustments
from his Chiropractor from timeto-time as “Maintenance”. He
wants to ensure he has not
misaligned his spine or that his
muscles are not tight which
contribute too the body’s natural
alignment to be compromised.
Chiropractic “Maintenance” can
be as simple as a monthly visit or
seasonal. Call today for your
“maintenance appointment”.
