Regional and NSW Representative teams to compete in National
Competitions in both the U15 and U16 age groups.

New South Wales Rugby Union manages performance teams through its
Generation Blue Pathways Program leading towards NSW Waratahs Super
20’s team Selection
About the Role
These advertised roles are responsible for leading and preparing the;
U15’s NSW Country Eagles, Greater Sydney Rams or Sydney Rays teams for
the 2017 Junior Gold Cup National Competition.
Or
U16’s NSW Waratahs 1, NSW Waratahs 2 teams for the
2017 U16’s National Champions
Key Responsibilities
U15’s Team
 Coach the Regional team to achieve NSW Rugby Union
performance targets.
 Prepare for and manage the Regional team through the ARU Junior
Gold Cup Competition for season 2017 (dates supplied in
attachment)
 Attend Pre-Competition Selection Tournaments hosted by NSW
Rugby Union involving representation from NSW Country Junior
Rugby Union, Sydney Junior Rugby Union and NSW Schools Rugby
Union
 Contribute to the ongoing development and review of the State
U15’s Program.
 Provide leadership and support the direction of a NSW Coaching
Strategy through all program delivery.
U16’s Team
 Coach the NSW Waratahs team 1 or 2 teams to achieve NSW Rugby
Union performance targets.
 Prepare for and manage the State Representative teams for the
ARU National U16’s Championships for 2017 (dates supplied in
attachment)
 Attend Pre-Competition Selection Tournaments hosted by NSW
Rugby Union involving representation from NSW Country Junior
Rugby Union, Sydney Junior Rugby Union and NSW Schools Rugby
Union


Contribute to the ongoing development and review of the State
U16’s Program.
Provide leadership and support the direction of a NSW Coaching
Strategy through all program delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience








Rugby Union coaching at a State or Regional level through the
Country Junior Rugby Union, Sydney Junior Rugby Union or NSW
Schools Rugby Union player pathways. (Coaches already appointed
to coaching roles within this pathway are able to apply for these
coaching positions)
Demonstrated experience of developing athletes in a performance
based Rugby Union environment.
Agree to display and carry out the Character and Values that come
with representing NSW Rugby Union as an organisation
Specific technical knowledge of individual and team principles
including techniques, coaching trends.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with a wide
range of people including athletes, parents, management, program
co-ordinators and administrators.
Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team working towards
achieving outcomes.
Ability to travel domestically locally where and when required for
both competition and training purposes.
A desire to progress themselves as a coach within the NSW Rugby
Union Coaching Pathway
Qualifications Required
 Current ARU/World Rugby Level II Coaching Accreditation is
essential
 Current ARU Smart Rugby Compliant
