Recently my ‘ Bus Pass’ ceased to work. Not
that I could not use it, but it caused a delay
whilst the driver had to check that my photo
bore some resemblance to me. Then he had to
issue me with a ticket.
I realised that I had to get it sorted out. I
enquired and was told that I could go to any
Council office or library and that the procedure
was the same as if I had lost the pass.
So, I went down to the library in Grove Road
and saw the ladies at the enquiries desk. They
were very helpful and showed me that there
was a crack in the plastic of the pass.
I had to admit that I kept it in my rear trousers
pocket, and therefore sat on it, which was
obviously not good for it.
The lady took my name & address and asked
me for £5, the fee for a replacement. I was so
relieved, after all that would only be the price
of a couple of trips to town.
The new pass arrived in only a few days. So
don’t be careless with bits of plastic, keep
them safe and treat them carefully … As I am
now doing.
