MARGA Council effort appreciated: Thanks to all of
you who expressed appreciation for the great work
the Council members and league representatives
do to make MARGA a successful golf association.
Continued Fall Golf: MARGA will cooperate with the
City golf courses to promote fall golf. While some
members do not golf beyond the 16 weeks of
league play, many do. Therefore MARGA is
promoting fall golf at the city courses without
establishing formal leagues.
Dates for Special Events: Listed at the bottom of
Page 2 are the 2015 dates for MARGA’s special
events. Please mark these dates on your calendar
and watch for announcements posted on the
bulletin boards, and sent email or postal mail.
MARGA Website: MARGA continues to improve the
website. Steve Lesgold (467-8618) is the Website
Coordinator and welcomes your suggestions to
improve the content. Visit the website for updates
on league activities, notices and registrations forms
for special events.

Odana Wed. Golf League: MARGA has added
Odana to its stable of leagues. See the details
shown at the bottom of this page.

Can’t Finish the Season? MARGA has a policy for
refunding a portion of the prize money when a
member is unable to finish the golf season for any
reason. The member, however, is responsible for
notifying his league secretary for this refund. Only
prize money not used in league play will be
refunded. MARGA dues are not refundable after
the season begins.
Hole in One Club. All registered members are
automatically included in the Hole-in-One Club.
Any member making a hole-in-one in an official
MARGA event will receive $100 paid at the Annual
Luncheon.
No cash please. Please do not send or pay cash for
MARGA events such as tournaments, outings,
registration or the luncheon. This can result in an
incorrect recording of the payee and activity.

Unlimited and restricted season passes can be used
to pay league golf fees.
Assigned Tee Times: Tee times are assigned and
made available at least one week in advance of
play. Assignments are posted on each MARGA
bulletin board and sent to members with email. If
you have a question, call your Scheduler. DO NOT
call the course for your tee time. Please notify your
Scheduler well in advance of dates you cannot
play.
Cart Riders: All cart riders are asked to share carts.
Cart partners will be shown on the tee time
schedule. Please contact your league Scheduler
directly if a change is needed.
MARGA Scorecards: Use one MARGA scorecard
per group in league play. Complete all items
including both first and last names. Leave
scorecards (and prize flags and holders) at the Pro
Shop desk, unless otherwise instructed. If MARGA
cards are not available, use the course card.
Flag Prizes: Handicap breaks shown on flight prize
flags are based on 9-holes (Yahara Monday and
Odana Wednesday leagues use an 18-hole
handicap) and may change during the season.
Write your name on the correct flight
flag. Members assigned first (last) tee times may be
asked to take out (pick up) flag cards and holders.
Prize Winners: Winners of league events are posted
weekly on the MARGA bulletin boards. Prize winners
at outings and championship tournaments are
posted shortly after each event. All winnings are
handled out at the Annual Luncheon.
MARGA Handicap System: MARGA will continue to
use the same handicap software developed last
season. Modifications were made to some of the
parameters used last year. Season ending 2014
handicaps are used to start the new season.
Revised handicaps will be posted on the bulletin
board once a month beginning June.
Handicaps for the new member handicaps are
determined from the nine-hole average reported
on the registration form.
Players without a handicap are not eligible for
prizes.
Golf Outings: Bill Grabel, Chair: Outings (516-6581),
has put together an interesting outing schedule.
Mark the dates (shown below) on your calendar
and plan to attend. A notice for each outing will be
posted on the MARGA bulletin boards in advance
of the outing. Registration forms for each outing will
be emailed or postal mailed to interested members.
