Energy Working Group
Formed in Spring 2009, lead by GOED to facilitate coordination,
education, awareness and opportunities for state agencies and their
partners engaged in economic development and energy matters.
Impact: duplication of efforts and gaps will be identified and minimized.
– Meets on a monthly basis and conducts tours of energy sites around the state
– Two groups spawned in areas where gaps have been identified
• Military Installation Energy Consortium (MIEC)
• Women in Economic Development & Energy (WIEE)

Connect existing and emerging businesses w/ growth opportunities in solar, wind, geo and ee
industries.

Create awareness of Utah’s support system for RE/EE.

Facilitate linking various players in the RE/EE supply chains in Utah to each other and to out-of-state contacts.
Encourage businesses to leverage government, nonprofit, industry and utility programs and services to
develop/expand.
Achieve a minimum of 200+ quality attendees.
Comprehend Utah’s RE/EE industry and marketplace.


Identify how RE/EE fits into the ENR Cluster.
Survey (investigate, examine, evaluate, assess) if Utah can compete for business/jobs in the new energy
economy.

17 states with the highest attendance from: UT, OH, CA and MA.

Special guests that paid their own accommodations to attend:
