CO COMPARATIVE LITERATURE AND LITERARY THEORY FIRST-CYCLE UNIVERSITY STUDY PROGRAMME and FIRST-CYCLE, COMBINED UNIVERSITY STUDY PROGRAMME The programmes are designed according to the Bologna Declaration. The first-cycle programmes last three years (180 ECTS credit points). The first-cycle programme in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory provides students with comprehensive knowledge from the field of literary science and introduces them to comparative literature, literary history, and literary theory. Special emphasis is placed on the rela- tionships between literature and other art and culture, and on the issue of Slovene literature in the context of European and world literature, which is one of the focal points of the study. The programme prepares students for work with texts that require extensive literary and broad cultural knowledge. On the practical level, it qualifies them for literary or cultural journalism, editorial work (publishing, newspapers, radio, and television), dramaturgical work (theatre, radio), literary criticism, and writing. Graduates also obtain knowledge and skills not directly related to literary texts, such as how to organise national and international cultural events, as well as experience in public relations activities and copywriting. The first-cycle, combined, university study programme lasts three years (six semesters) and is worth 180 ECTS credit points in combination with the second combined programme. Each of the two combined programmes represents exactly 50% of the study load, or 90 ECTS credit points. The combination of the two combined programmes therefore forms a single complete study programme. This programme can be combined with any of the accredited, combined study programmes.
