JSU Record (10): 335-224 (.599)
Overall Record (10): 335-224 (.599)
Head Coach Omar Johnson enters his 11th

season.
Johnson captured his first Southwestern Athletic
Conference title in 2013. That season the Tigers
went 4-0 in the conference tournament. The
Tigers repeated the feat during the 2014 season,
going 4-0 in the league tournament to capture
their second straight conference crown. During
the 2014 NCAA Tournament, JSU knocked off
the No. 1 ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns –
in a 1-0 decision – to mark the program’s first

plateau within his first three years. Johnson
joined former JSU head coach and former
Athletics Director, Robert “Bob” Braddy as the
only baseball coaches to surpass 100 victories
at Jackson State. In 2012, he led the Tigers to
six consecutive winning seasons as his team
posted a 34-17 overall record and the SWAC
Eastern Division title. During Johnson’s tenure
