What are Implementation Drivers?

Fidelity Assessment
By assessing fidelity we can:
• Determine if the intervention was used,
• Attribute outcomes to the intervention, and
• Identify areas of improvement
Selection
Selection from an active implementation
perspective is different in two important
ways:
• Viewed as a "mutual" process
• Includes "role play" processes
Training
• Provides background information
• Introduce skills
• Highlights major concepts
Coaching
• Quality coaching offers:
•Critical support for trying out new approaches
•Helps implementers persist in utilizing the
intervention
Organization Drivers
Systems Intervention Driver
• External variables, policies, environments, systems or
structures that impact an implementing organization
• Leaders and teams identify barriers beyond level of
authority and work to bring issues to authorities who can
address barriers
Facilitative Administration Driver
• Internal processes, policies, regulations, and
structures over which a school, district or
implementing organization has control
• This driver is typically the responsibility of
building/district level leadership or implementation
team
Decision Support Data System
• System for identifying, collecting, and analyzing
data
• Data system provides timely, reliable data to
drive decision-making

Technical
• Different challenges require different
strategies
• Agreement on the problem and
problem is defined similarly by those
impacted by problem
Adaptive
● Varying views on the problem and
varying perspectives on solutions for
problem
● Problem is defined differently by those
impacted by problem
