Course Description
This course focuses on the patterns of people behavior at the three possible levels of human behavior
in organizations: the level of individual behavior, the level of group behavior and the behavior of the
organization. The course aims at mastering the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field
of modern forms and methods of controlling the behavior of individuals and groups to improve the
efficiency of the organization in procedures of staff recruitment, placement and assessment in
accordance with the individual characteristics of the person, managing emotions and stress in the
organization, creating motivating work environment, managing career development, team building
and improving the efficiency of the group, designing effective communication flows, constructive
management of organizational conflict, the formation and maintenance of organizational culture.
Course Objectives
Participants will be expected to:
- Become knowledgeable of the personality and competency influences on behavior
- Learn how to use perception and judgment in influencing organizational behavior
- Develop an ability for decision making
- Recognize the role of motivation on performance
- Distinguish between satisfaction and stress in the work place
- Become familiar with interpersonal processes and communication
- Gain an understanding of the need for organization and job redesign
Course Approach
The course will involve lectures and discussion, plus exercises to gain practical experience with
the concepts and tools.

Evaluation Criteria
Classroom instruction will involve interactive lectures, individual and group participation in
problem-solving exercises and discussion of readings. The assignments (including the problem,
retirement plan, and final project) will account for 25% of the grade; attendance 10% and class
participation 10%, Mid Terms Exam 25% and Final Exam 30%.
