Subject: Political Activity
I.
POLICY:
Cumberland County Government prohibits employees from engaging in political
activities during work hours.
II.
DEFINITIONS: NONE

PROCEDURE:
The County Department of Personnel and Human Resources shall inform employees that:
1. An employee shall not directly or indirectly use his/her authority or the
influence of his/her position to control or modify the political action of another
person.
2. During work hours employees shall neither engage in political activities, nor
promote political activities so as to impair their usefulness in the positions in
which they are employed.
3. Anyone who violates this policy shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary
action including termination of employment.
