Stokes Four friends gathered in a cold, dusty attic on Christmas day to make a solemn pact. "Our dreams for the future," they whispered, placing tiny pieces of paper into a shimmering blue bottle. That event happened in 1929, and it is decades later when local news reporter Brenna Delaney stumbles upon that bottle . . . and into the most meaningful story of her career. Life has taken those four girls' dreams of love, fame, and faith on a path fraught with seduction, betrayal, and loss. Little has turned out as expected--and yet every choice, every tear has led each of them to a special place. Brenna's search will uncover the secrets of that Blue Bottle Club . . . and her own life will never be the same. "A beautiful novel about friendship and the power of faith to renew our dreams." Reviewed by Angela Hunt, author of "Magdalene" DVD’s of the Worship Services are available in the DVD bookcase in the library (left hand side of Fiction). Please sign out and return the DVD after one week. Bringing worship to the people Presbyterians Sharing supports Hanmaum Presbyterian Church in Langley, BC which serves a growing Korean community. Through worship, Bible studies, family ministry and outreach, Hanmaum is fulfilling its mission to glorify God and to let people know Jesus. The congregation’s seniors’ ministry reaches out to local Korean seniors who are unable to attend church. Every Wednesday, members bring worship to residents living at Amenida care home in Surrey. The ministry serves the spiritual and emotional needs of the residents as they connect with the church, share in the good news of the gospel and enjoy worship and special musical performances. The Rev. Philip Kim shares, “Our mission is service, a call to help people in need and to permeate all life with the compassion of God.” -Presbyterians Sharing reaches out to seniors ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Christmas is Coming!
