Introduction
Leadership and Organizations are things that cannot be separated from each other, both
need the other. Leadership in organization is considered as the successful guidance for a
company and put it in the right track. Leadership most needed quality in companies in order to
success but effective leadership is not something that comes naturally, it is a skill that’s earned
by experiences managers had been or will go through. What will be discussed in this paper is
the definition of leadership, leadership qualities and leadership styles. This should give a clear
view in what happen inside organizations.
Leadership
Many are now sees leadership as a not easy word to explain but scientists has defined
leadership as someone’s ability to lead or control a set of people in a community and give them
instructions to follow after explaining it well. Leadership is important in organizations because
it determines the success or failure for any institution. In general, each of leadership and
management completes the other but they are in some way different from each other.
Leadership is the ability to effect a group of people positively in organizations to success in it.
Management is the ability to control a group of people in organization and coordinate them
well to set goals and then achieve them.
Leadership Qualities
There many qualities that make a successful leader and I will mention few of them. Firstly,
Honesty, in business world the leader behavior reflected in his employees so what’s the leader
do will effect the workers thus he most be honest and ethical so his team follow him. Secondly,
Confidence, the leader must be confident and also he should always believe in his ability and his
team ability. Thirdly, Commitment, the leader can push his team to work hard if he did the
same thing. If he kept on working as hard as they do, this should motivate them to produce
more contents. Fourthly, Creativity, anyone dreams of being a good leader should learn
sometimes to thing out of the box to make the right decisions and he also should not take
decisions randomly without thinking or try to choose most of the times the stress-free possible
choices to reach the point that you wish for. Fifthly, Positive Attitude, always keep on your
mind that who’s in front of you is person that needs an emotional stimuli to push him work
harder.
Leadership Styles
There are many leadership styles that we all have to now, The first one is Transformational.
Leaders in this style are expected everyone to give the best of they have. Also they are
responsible of encouraging their team. The example is President Nelson Mandela when he
spent most of his life in jail then he led the nation toward the multiracial democratic in most of
the countries. The second one is the Transaction style. Leaders in this style are giving all the
control on their group by the group members. It is consider as the most creative style because
the team members are acting as one. The example is Adolf Hitler how led the hole world in few
days. The third style is Democratic style and it is the most effective one. Leaders in this style
most of the times are trying to involve their team with taking decisions. This way can help on
keeping the energy level for the group up thus more work will be done in less time. The
example is President Barack Obama who’s always tends to take the decisions with his nation.
The fourth type of leadership style is the Bureaucratic style. Leaders in this style tend to expect
that all the work is doing well and will finish in a certain time to be insure about all members
safety, The example is Saudi Aramco who’s always put a consideration about people’s life and
safety.
Conclusion
Leadership is the ability to lead a team to achieve the success. Leadership is passed on two
basic keys and they are leadership qualities and leadership styles. Leadership qualities are what
any successful leadership most have and they can be earned form our parents, by what we
experienced or see. But leadership styles are what we learned about leadership. This paper
should gave a clear view about why leadership in organizations is important.
