These materials have been designed to support the Welsh Second Language
curriculum at Key Stage 1. However, the resources could easily be used to
complement the delivery of this subject in other Key Stages.
They have been created to facilitate pupils’ acquisition of vocabulary through
digital “flashcards” and interactive multimedia activities. The materials have
been designed to provide teachers with the option of using the resources both
online as computer-based learning aids and offline as hard-copy teaching
aids. A generic MS PowerPoint format has been adopted to allow users of all
interactive whiteboards to access the materials. Learning outcomes will be
enhanced as a direct consequence.
The materials form a complete unit of work, they have input to 20 lessons and
they include attractive interactive elements (animation and audio). The
resources have been prepared bilingually and have been designed to
incorporate interactive whiteboard use as an essential part of their delivery.
