What’s your favorite love song or musical artist who sings love

What one point did you find most insightful, helpful, or
challenging in this week’s message?
In this week’s message we on the love God desires to see expressed
between and among his children on earth. In our first scripture
reading we heard about two incredible friends: David and Jonathan.
King Saul was Jonathan’s father, and had turned against David. Saul
had already attempted to kill David several times.
Read again 1 Samuel 20:12-17 (You may want to look at the
whole chapter.)
What specific elements of the love we described on Sunday (1
Corinthians 13) do you see in Jonathan and David?
In our gospel reading we heard Jesus command his disciples and us
to “love one another.” God’s Word describes love we express for
God, love expressed in a marriage and a family, as well as love we
have for all our neighbors and even our enemies. Sunday’s message
focused on Jesus’ command to “love one another” within the church.
Read 1 John 4:7-12
What specific elements of love in the church does that
section reinforce?
Did you discover any new points?
Many other places in the New Testament speak of our love for each
other in the church. (John 15:12, 17; Romans 12:10, Ephesians 4:2; 1
Thessalonians 4:9; Hebrews 13:1; 1 Peter 3:8, 1 John 3:11)
Why would God’s Word place such a heavy emphasis on the
love we have for each other within the church?
Sometimes showing love is difficult for us, because of our sinful
weakness. We may struggle with certain aspects more than others.
Which aspects of the love described in 1 Corinthians 13 are the
most difficult for you?
How do you plan to love your brothers and sisters in Christ
more and more…
