Sports Awards
Please read this section carefully prior to completing this application. A shortlist of
nominations will be circulated after the nominations deadline. Winners will be decided by
the Sports Awards Judging Panel.
This year applications will be judged by our Sports Awards Judging Panel which includes
myself, Adam Bailey (Student Activities Manager), James Hart (Student Engagement
Officer) and another Student Officer. The Sports Awards Judging Panel’s decision is final
and winners will remain secret until the evening of the awards.

CLUB OF THE YEAR
The one everyone wants to win. Both competitive and non-competitive clubs are eligible
for this award. A club may nominate itself or another club. The award is for outstanding
excellence in every aspect of the clubs activities throughout the year.
TEAM OF THE YEAR
The most successful team awarded for sporting achievement. A club may nominate a team
of its own or a team from another club. Only Applicable to BUCS 1st team levels and Non
BUCS teams competing at a national or regional level.
MOST IMPROVED CLUB
A club may nominate itself or another club for this award. Criteria for this award can be
based on numbers of participation, competitive excellence or events arranged.
MOST IMPROVED TEAM
A club may nominate itself or another club for this award. Criteria for this award can be
based on numbers of participation, competitive excellence or events arranged.
PRESIDENT OF THE YEAR
This award is for a President who has shown exceptional commitment, leadership,
enthusiasm and innovation in the running of their society. This award cannot be selfnominated.
COMMITTEE MEMBER OF THE YEAR
To be awarded to an individual committee member who has given exemplary service to his
or her club. This award cannot be self-nominated.
CAPTAIN OF THE YEAR OF THE YEAR
To be awarded to the captain who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and
dedication or has excelled this year. This award cannot be self-nominated.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER (MVP) OF THE YEAR OF THE YEAR
To be awarded to the player who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and
dedication or has excelled this year. This award cannot be self-nominated.
MOST DEDICATED CLUB
Every club is dedicated to its own success but some go that extra mile to achieve it. Open
to all sports clubs.
MALE SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
Awarded to who you feel is the best male personality of your club. This could be due to
their humour, banter, dedication, performance or any number of reasons. This award
cannot be self-nominated.
FEMALE SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
As above but one for the ladies this time.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Now it’s time to give back and appreciate your coaches... Does your coach offer you 100%
dedication & Commitment, with you for every match, gives that extra mile to ensure your
progression? Clubs should nominate their own coach.
RAG – FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR
Have you gone out of your way to raise money for charity this year? Any club or team can
be self-nominated for this award. Let us show you the recognition you deserve.
