Employer Engagement
Resources for Engaging Employers
Sarah Freeman and Debbie Martin
Mission Statement
The Enterprise Adviser Network will:
Work alongside school and college careers staff and senior leaders to support the
development of young people in East Sussex, to create an informed, enthusiastic and
committed future workforce. Through the strategic development and enhancement of
careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG), promote the importance of
attitude and social and communication skills when seeking employment opportunities.
Offer schools and their stakeholders insight into the needs of industry. Increase
opportunities to access local employers and support in raising awareness of alternative
routes in to careers.
Outcomes and success:
All students in all state funded Secondary schools and colleges will have access to good
quality CEIAG provision regardless of their geography. Increased employer engagement
and a variety of innovative careers activities within schools will widen horizons for young
people, including opportunities for/take up of Apprenticeships and Traineeships. The
promotion of local employment opportunities and the breadth of careers available will
enhance skills development and ensure economic growth in the county.
