Pdf version of the presentation attached to email. PCPs will be required to align their health promotion plans with Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plans by October 2013 and will be guided by the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2011-2015. Rather than being a health promotion plan, the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2011 – 2015 covers the breadth of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act (which outlines the role of local government) and includes evidence-based preventative interventions for improved outcomes: http://www.health.vic.gov.au/prevention/vphwplan Included in Tim’s presentation was data on a French ‘EPODE’ program that has been successful in reducing obesity rates. Moved: Rowena Lam, Seconded: Kate Bagnato 5: 6: 7: CORRESPONDENCE Jo Department of Justice funding 2012 – 2013. It has been agreed that funding of $10,000 will continue for another year. PCP will be asking agencies for proposals regarding how the money should be spent. Health Literacy Proposal – PCP’s at a regional level have $13,000 to spend in the Health Literacy area and have organised Helen Kelleher to conduct a forum in May and the Monash Health Literacy Short Course on 5 & 6 June. The aim is to raise awareness of the broader issues associated with health literacy. An overview of the Patient Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) was presented. This system is to commence on 1 July and should be available to patients from that date. A Telehealth demonstration took place - the doctor and patient showed how they are able to consult a specialist via Skype. The Victorian Human Services Directory will be used as the starting point of a national database. PCEHR to be discussed again at the next meeting. Total Surplus $304,865 Total Budgeted Income $659,499 Total Budgeted Expenses $534,594 Budgeted Exp as at 29 Feb $356,396 Total Actual Expenses $242,703 Actual Balance $416,796 Difference btwn Budget Exp & Actual $113,693 Vocational Graduate Certificate in Consumer Engagement: The WPCP is subsidising this course for up to $8,000. The course will run over four days – 28 & 29 June and 5 & 6 July 2012. Course work will be completed within a set time period after the four days. Cost per participant is now $1751, nearly half the original price. A minimum of eight participants are required for course to run so please register early. The WPCP will provide catering and venue. Kate suggested PCP sponsor training for allied health workers to assist in the implementation of the electronic care planning project. 8.2 Jo/ Executive Business – Executive membership – New Chair election process Expressions of interest will be called for by the end of April for people who wish to be on the WPCP Executive (GWHS must be one of these). Once this is decided, a meeting chair will be selected. 9: PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT 9.1 Partnership update. Comments/feedback welcome Jo has adapted the partnership tool and this is now ready to go. Linda Rowley will be contacting agencies soon to gather information on how they see the PCP role and detail any ideas they have regarding changes to the role. After discussions at the last PCP meeting, the Youth Services Network is going ahead, with quarterly meetings set and working groups currently being developed. 10.2 Elder Abuse Prevention Report – Two consultants (Linda Rowley and Linda McRory) have been working on this project and expect to finish by the end of June. Information and resources are available on our website: http://www.wellingtonpcp.com.au/other-joint-initiatives 10.3 National Closing the Health Gap Day – Tara presented an overview of the Close the Health Gap celebrations held on 22 March. The day was a great example of partnership in the region. As Ramahyuck’s Close the Gap coordinator was responsible for three events on the day all committee members stepped up to support her in planning the day and running the day so Bec could attend events in Morwell and Drouin. Physical Health Project Report Dawn spoke about a GippSport Adult Bike Riding Program for Beginners. This will commence in April and is a six-session bicycle program for adults over the age of 45 who are keen to ride with others and gain some additional riding skills in the process.
