nasen Early Years SEND Case Study 2017 Guidance on completing the Case Study form Send us a case study and you could receive a FREE one month’s Gold membership of Childcare.co.uk, worth £24.99, AND a FREE book from Nursery World’s ‘Practical Pre-School Books’ range, worth up to £20! Anyone who works with children from 0-5 can provide us with a case study, to show how you or your setting meets the needs of one or more children who have, or may have, special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). You might work in a nursery, or as a childminder, or in a Foundation Stage class. We are really keen to collect as many case studies as possible, so that we can share the great practice that happens in many settings with other Early Years professionals. You may think that what you do is ‘nothing special’ but actually, there will be lots of people who could benefit from hearing about how you and your setting support children with SEND. Please tell us about what you do in your setting – this could involve support for parents, or staff development, the physical environment, resources that you have found useful, how staff interact with the children, how you work with other agencies or anything else that has an impact on children with SEND. We may use the case study in one of our new resources which are specifically aimed at the Early Years sector; these will include webcasts, miniguides (small booklets full of information), and a set of materials that will be used by settings in face-to-face training. These resources will sit on the nasen website. We will not identify any individual or setting and will not use any of the names that you provide us with; we will substitute real names with pseudonyms. If you do not want to complete all of the boxes on the form, you don’t have to, but the more information you are able to provide us with the more useful your case study will be to us. Once you have completed the form, please email it to: [email protected]. If you prefer to print off and complete a paper copy, please post it to: Alex Grady, nasen House, 4/5 Amber Business Village, Amber Close, Amington, Tamworth B77 4RP We will then consider how we may be able to use it in our new resources. If you are one of the first 20 case studies, you will receive your FREE Childcare.co.uk month’s Gold membership AND a FREE book from the ‘Practical Pre-School Books’ range as a ‘thank you’ from nasen, Childcare.co.uk, and Nursery World, who are our partners in this project. www.nasen.org.uk nasen Early Years Case Study 2017 Thank you very much for agreeing to provide us with a case study of your effective practice for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
