Six Ways to Wellbeing ‐ Wheel to Wellbeing Game About the Game Many of us would like to be a little happier and just need a few ideas and just need a few ideas and a little encouragement. The Wheel to Wellbeing game is designed to do just that. If gives players a few tips along six themes; Be Active, Keep Learning, Give, Connect, Take Notice and Care to create the Wheel to Wellbeing. Game Aim Collect one pledge card on each theme and make some pledges to try wellbeing tips for yourself in the future. Facilitators Guide You should have two facilitators. Facilitator A plays the game – players can come in and out of the games at any point. Facilitator B recruits players and speaks to people after they have finished playing the game. How to Play Facilitator A has six separate themed piles of the Six Ways to Wellbeing cards. These cards are placed tip / pledge side down on the board along with the spinner. Ask the player on your right to go first and then move anti‐clockwise. On each turn the player spins the spinner and picks up the matching card. The dotted side of the card can be used for other players to suggest tips about the theme and to write them down. The player then keeps the tip / pledge card and can then choose to try one of the suggested tips or suggest one of their own. A player can choose to swap a tip / pledge card with another player to get a wellbeing theme that they need or a tip that they would like to try. How to end the Game A game is finished when a player who gathers all six tip / pledge cards. When people finish playing Facilitator B should a) Write down any new tips to share with [email protected] b) Encourage players to make a pledge to try out the tips later c) Encourage players to sign up to the campaign by giving their email address to be shared as above After the game Please send all tips through to [email protected] Remember the most important thing about the game is the conversations it creates. Every tip is a conversation starter. When someone gets a tip, either from the deck or from a player, ask them to read it out loud, or offer to read it out for them. You can then prompt them and other players around the table to start a conversation. Don’t rush the game. Give people time to talk to one another and share. If the conversation is steering away from the topic of the tips, or some players are not engaged, then you can simply throw in a “Great, who’s turn is it to throw?” Remember that it’s more important that people feel welcome and enjoy the game than follow the rules 100%.
