SURREY HEATH GARDEN WASTE COLLECTIONS
You may have recently received a letter from Biffa Municipal Limited inviting you to sign up for
an “Independent” Green Waste Club for 2018. This is a different arrangement to the current
Council-sponsored scheme.
We would like to assure residents that the Council has no intention of ceasing the Green Waste
arrangements as we are committed to ensuring that residents have the ability to recycle as
much green waste as easily as possible.
The Council’s current waste collection contract with Biffa Municipal comes to an end in
February 2018. We will be sharing more details about the green waste collection service shortly
but can confirm it will be competitively priced and maintain the excellent service we currently
provide.
The subscription fee for continuing with the Council managed garden waste service will be
£48/year which includes the cost of the bin and bin delivery. This competitive price will be
available to all residents throughout the year, not just for a limited time or way in advance.
The new Green Waste service will be brought back under Council management and be
provided by our new contractor. There will be no break in service for existing customers.
Remaining with the current Green Waste Club service in 2018 will mean that residents will
benefit from:





Continuity of service
A single waste collection day each week for all your waste and recycling needs
A contract managed and provided by the Council
Collections made by a new fuel efficient fleet of vehicles
24/7 call centre
