Process to install and run GenXchange server on your own Local or web Server Download and install the Server Package -Download the zip folder (genxchange) server from the genxchange main server at : sites.uclouvain.be/genxchange - Unzip the file genxhange.zip into a root folder or directory of you own server *If you are going to deploy it on a Local Server (with IP address access) ,the folder genxchange should be placed somewhere in your “www” root folder *if you use a web server just make sure with the root folder and path for access; for example: with UCL site ,the file directory is loading into genxchange folder to enable access through the link http://site.uclouvain.be/genxchange . NOTE: The directory path where you install genxchange in your server will be the same one to use on Gx laboratory settings while connecting new machine - see field ” URL: “ *for Local Server with IP, the URL might be something like :YOUR IP ADRESS/genxchange Example:10.192.10.1/genxchange,or 127.0.0.1/genxchange or NAME SERVER/genxchange *for hosting web server: the URL is linked to the genxchange directory Example: http://YOURSITE/genxchange Lunch the Setup.exe for the server installation: Lunch Install GenXchange_Server on Desktop , Follow with Wamp Server installation and components Follow with SMS enabler installation and components Apply Setting to SMS Enable for Receiving incoming SMS *Select the Modem Installed under field option Connect using then check the option Autostart to allow SMS enabler starting automatically on windows start. *Chose Option SMS to WebServer and Write in the URL link following : http://localhost/genxchange/smsinpcr.php GENXCHANGE SERVER CONFIGURATION *Server System admin account and Genxchange remote servers Before using the first time the server , user admin Must create one system account which is going to manage others account National ,Provincial and others admintrators The system admin also have two options for sharing data communication to Genxchange remote server, the first specified about backup to UCL server ,and the one to share information to Data analysis Server (Savics) If he chose Yes of one above options, data will be sent to Online servers ,this option is also available in the system admin Account if he want to set this in future After submitting information , there’s a report page *Users Backup of data to UCL Server dayly In on Setting the Backup Service had been selected ‘ Yes’ ;When opening the interface of the portal a table indicating the need to backup appears at the right corner if this was done longer than a day before By clicking on the link Perform Dayly backup , a pop-up window is displayed by copying the data to the backup server, this pop-up can be reduced if the data is a critical mass in order to allow the user to continue its work.
