Students will read and count books read to celebrate the days in anticipation of Christmas and of course the joy of
reading. Students who fill out card will receive an award. Also Christmas centers will be available for students to
enjoy.
The Reading Club will get together to celebrate the holiday and decorate cookies while we discuss business and
books. The Book Club is a way for the library to celebrate an event in a student’s life such as; reaching 1st semester
educational goals, meeting A.R. Reading goals, good behavior, good sportsmanship, or making new friends – there
are many reasons to celebrate with books! This program also helps promote the lifelong love of reading.
Coloring helps in the following way: Bilateral Coordination, Fine Motor Coordination, Self-regulation, and SelfEsteem. It also allows the parents to interact with their child. The three top students winning the contest will
receive a gift card from Barnes and Noble.
Rene Colato Lainez will present to our students. Authors include “Inside information concerning character
development, plot, and why an author chooses to go in a certain direction.” We also want to support local authors,
and inviting them helps students to further embrace the spirit of literacy and its connection to writing.
